Reflexology has been known for years to be an effective way of relieving stress. However, foot reflexology is the most popular type than other parts of the body. Did you know that reflexology can be done on the ears and the hands as well?

People who do not have legs and feet have an option of applying reflexology as well. The feet are the preferred area to work on as they are a larger and easier part to access. Hand reflexology is suitable for people with sicknesses like arthritis, carpal tunnel Syndrome, etc. It is so easy to do it yourself, You just have to learn the techniques. You can also do it easily in public places or work places.

Hands are two of the most vital parts of our bodies and it is simply difficult to operate without. We even use our hands when we are talking, especially when we are trying to explain something. Deaf people and people with speech problems use hands to communicate (Sign language). You can see that hands do so much for us and it is therefore important to take good care of them.

One can ask ‘What is reflexology then?’. In simple terms we can say it is an alternative medicine where pressure is applied on the reflex areas of the feet, hands and ears. These reflex areas represent the body parts on the feet or hands. Hope it all make sense. If you take a look at the reflexology chart, it might come together. In other words, reflexology is like a remote control, where you can work on various body parts without physically touching them. Cool is in it? This treatment is so powerful beyond what we can explain here. It is unbelievable how our bodies are made.

There are a number of different reflexology techniques that one can opt for depending on what you want to get out of your treatment. The techniques includes mobilisation, gaits, nutrition, mobilisation, etc. Reflexology has been proven to contribute positively in the lives of people with the following problems: infertility, insomnia, back pain, menopause, depression, autism, etc..

Over the years there has been much research on the effectiveness of reflexology, and there are many cases available on the Internet to proof this. With back pain and general pain or allergies, I find that while there is noticeable relief after the first treatment, the treatment is more effective after a couple of treatments. However this is not always the case! Reflexology also compliments chiropractic and physiotherapy treatments. It eases muscle stiffness and if done before the above mentioned treatment it makes the bones easier to manipulate.

You will experience the benefits after the first treatment. A program of treatment is usually once a week for 4-6 weeks, depending on the condition being treated. It will be beneficial if the treatment is done once a month after then. This will boost your immune system greatly whiles it relieving stress and reviving your body. Look, it might seem a weird but it works. Just try it once for yourself and see.
